The ITC has received two applications to run the local cable delivery franchise for Yeovil, which comprises 57,000 homes in the Somerset and Dorset areas.
The applicants are: Convergence, which proposes to offer service to 50,000 homes by the year 2001 with a cash bid of £178,528 and Yeovil Cable and Telecoms which will cover 38,729 homes by the year 2000 with a bid of £1.
A decision should be reached by the summer.
