Amid speculation that Tom Rubython needed an extra million pounds to publish the second edition of his new business paper Sunday Business, a source at the paper insisted that publication will go ahead this weekend.
It is almost certain that the paper is in financial difficulties after an important backer dropped out at the last minute last week. Those rumoured to have come forward with cash include politicians Sir James Goldsmith and John Redwood. Initial sales of Sunday Business were disappointing last week: around 145,000 copies were sold (Newsline 24/04).
