Five Nations Could Go To Sky
Coverage of England’s Five Nation’s matches may be sold to Sky by the Rugby Football Union. The development is due to a row between the RFU and the Five Nations television committee over distribution of proceeds for Five Nations TV coverage.
The RFU wanted to take a larger share than the other competitors because, according to the RFU, it attracts most of the audience. This is being disputed by the other teams which take part. The current television deal is up for renewal at the end of next season and the RFU is now looking elsewhere to secure coverage of its games. Sky is hotly tipped to be a bidder.
