Rivals no more? Sky on-demand content on Virgin

From autumn 2011, Virgin Media customers will be able to access Sky on-demand content via their Virgin set top box.

Once arch-rivals including a bitter feud which resulted in the removal of all Sky’s channels from the Virgin Media platform, the two media owners now seem to have buried the hatchet.

Any Virgin Media customers who has access to the Sky channels as part of their Virgin subscription will soon be able to view content from Sky 1 and Sky Living as well as a range of movies.

Access will be via Virgin Media set top boxes, including the TiVo box, with mobile and online distribution expected to follow.
