Facebook has launched a Premium Ad unit, designed to promote page posts. The new product expands from Facebook’s Sponsored Stories.
They are a larger format to other ads available on the site, appearing on the right hand side of a user’s home page.
The social network has also upgraded its Page Insights tool, with new features including “People talking about this”, which reveals data about brand conversations.
The new measurement tool also shows the number of Likes, user comments about brands, RSVPs, check-ins, @mentions and photo tags. The figures will be made available to all users, which means brands can compare rival activity.
Other new metrics available to marketers include Friends of Fans and Total Weekly Reach.
