Midland Buy Echo

Midland Independent Newspapers has acquired Echo Press Ltd. The deal, worth £3.7 million, includes a commercial printing operation.

Echo Press publishes The Loughborough Echo, The Long Eaton Advertiser, The Stapleford and Sandiacre News and Nu News, as well as three free weekly titles, The Loughborough Echo Advertiser, The Ashby Echo and The Coalville Echo. The business reported turnover of £5.15 million for the year ending June 30 1996.
