Newspaper Subscribers More Loyal, According To Survey
A study conducted by the Daily Telegraph into the readership habits of those who subscribe to an advance payment scheme, compared to readers who buy the paper at newsstands, has shown the former to be more loyal and avid readers.
The questionnaire was mailed to a random sample of 2,556 Advanced Payment Programme subscribers and 3,246 non-subscribers chosen randomly from The Telegraph‘s database. The research reports to have found that subscribers are more likely to read all seven issues a week than non-subscribers, as well as reading more features on average.
The report also claims that subscription readers are more likely to read the weekend Business News sections than non-subscribers. Moreover, those who pay for the Daily Telegraph and Sunday Telegraph in advance were found to be more loyal to the brand, reading fewer rival papers than non-subscribers.
