Taylor Nelson Profits Up £5˝m For First Half

Market information company, Taylor Nelson Sofres (TNS), has today announced financial results for the six months to 30 June, which show a rise in pre-tax profit from £3.9 million to £9.4 million. On the same period last year, turnover is up by 250% to £159 million.

The company, formerly known as Taylor Nelson AGB, has seen improvements in profit since it merged with French group Sofres in November last year (see Taylor Nelson Buys French Rival).

Tony Cowling, chairman of TNS, says that the emphasis of the group’s research and development expenditure is to be shifted away from ad-hoc and towards continuous projects.
