BT launches smallest YouView+ set-top box yet

BT has launched a new, smaller version of its YouView+ set-top box, free from today for all new BT TV customers.

Designed to align with the rest of BT’s devices, including Home Hub 4 and 5, the new box is reported to have a faster start-up time and more efficient TV Guide and on-demand navigation.

Able to receive more than 100 TV and 20 radio channels, viewers have the ability to pause and rewind live TV and record up to two channels at once, with the 500GB hard drive meaning that up to 300 hours of standard-definition or 125 hours of high-definition content can be stored.

“The new YouView+ box from BT has all the functions and features that viewers love about the service, but it’s even better,” said Alex Green, director of BT TV.

“It’s been a big hit with customers who have already tried it out. They’ve said it is smaller, quieter and faster. The new YouView+ box from BT has been designed in the style of other BT devices, so will look great in any living room.”

YouView+ from BT is available with BT’s TV subscriptions and broadband packages, with many existing customers able to upgrade to the new box for £35.
