IPA Seeks New Executive

The Institute of Practitioners in Advertising is hoping to appoint a new director to promote the value of advertising to the business community, business schools and universities. He will also need to generate the sufficient resources needed to follow through initiatives, as well as giving effect to the plans of the committee.

Nick Phillips, Director General, told MediaTel that they are seeking to fund the new post from the top 20 agencies, and that it is possible that it will be on a 3-4 day per week consultancy basis.

At present they are searching for both funds and candidates.

The people who will review the candidates will be Chris Powell, President of the IPA; Michael Hockney of BDDH and Nick Phillips. The new director will report to Nick Phillips.

It is hoped to select a candidate to start early autumn.
