Capital Adopts New Scheduling Technology

Capital Radio Group is to be the first group in the UK to use the Powergold music scheduling system, replacing its current DOS based selector software.

Capital Radio Group programme director Keith Pringle, said: “Capital Radio was the first UK company to innovate music radio by using computer aided music scheduling. Now fifteen years later we’re again at the cutting edge by adopting the Powergold 2002 scheduler.”

The issue of music scheduling was recently adopted as a selling point by Virgin Radio, when earlier this year it introduced a policy of not playing the same single twice on any working day between 9am and 5pm.
