Talent Show Finales See Peak Audience Figures

Britain's Got Talent Winner Britain’s Got Talent and I’d Do Anything attracted more than 18 million adult viewers between them on Saturday night.

ITV1’s Britain’s Got Talent easily won the ratings war, with a 53% audience share in the second part of the programme’s final, between 9.30 and 10pm.

More than 12 million people tuned in to see the 14-year-old ‘Singing in the Rain’ dancer, George Sampson, win the competition – a £100,000 prize and a place in the Royal Variety Performance.

Dance duo Signature took second place with their Michael Jackson number, while the Welsh chorister Andrew Johnston came third.

BBC One’s rival show, I’d Do Anything, attracted 6.4 million adult viewers to its result show between 8.30 and 9pm.

Jodie Prenger won the chance to play Nancy in the west-end musical production of Oliver, beating Jessie with her final rendition of ‘As long as he needs me’.
