Ofcom has created a new advisory panel for English regions, which includes former Emap digital executive Dharmash Mistry and ex-Anglia TV managing director Graham Creelman.
Eight new members have been appointed to the broadcast regulator’s Advisory Committee for England, while one established member has been reappointed to represent the South West, according to reports.
Professor William Dutton is set to take on the role of chair, replacing Suzy Brain – he will represent the South East region.
Mistry, now a partner at Balderton Capital, will represent London while Creelman, who previously worked as director of regional programming for ITV Network, will advise on East England.
Other new members include director of Digital Voice for Communities Olwyn Hocking, former BBC regional representative Wendy Pilmer and ex-regional manager for BT Robert Watson.
The first Committee was established in 2004 to advise the regulator on media interests of people around the country.
Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland also have Advisory Committees, which were all established following the 2003 Communications Act.
