In the midst of Popstars fever, the BBC is making plans for a re-launch of its flagship pop music show Top Of The Pops. The show will shortly move from its old home at Elstree, in order to accommodate a further weekly episode of Eastenders which is also filmed at the Hertfordshire studios. One possible location for the show is Riverside Studios in Hammersmith, recently vacated by the now-defunct TFI Friday.
The BBC declined to comment on the move, apart from to confirm that Riverside Studios is one a number of locations being considered for the show, although a decision must be reached before April when the move will occur. It is reported that at this time the show will be re-vamped and may even be returned to it’s original Thursday evening time slot.
