Five Revenues Reach €383m

Five’s revenues reached €499 billion (£383 million) in 2007, a year on year rise of 7.1%.

Five parent company RTL said that the channel’s earnings before interest, tax and amortisation were £10 million (£7.69 million).

Five group’s share of the net advertising market increased from 8.8% in 2006 to 9.3% in 2007, fuelled by sales from digital channels Five US and Five Life.

Total Five group share of adult viewing including its digital offshoots, was 6.2%, up from 6% in 2006.

The share of viewing on the main Five channel fell from 5.9% in 2006 to 5.3% in 2007.

RTL Group chief executive, Gerhard Zeiler, said that although the UK TV advertising market had a difficult start to 2007, it recovered in the second half of the year.
