ITV will not be selling Carlton Screen Advertising (CSA), despite long-term rumours that the broadcaster would off-load it as part of a streamlining of its business.
Henry Staunton, ITV finance director, said in an interview with Mediaweek: “We have completed reviews of CSA and Screen Vision. We have grown the CSA contract base and believe our joint venture in the US can deliver real growth, which we’ll exploit for the benefit of our shareholders.”
ITV was first thought to be selling off £600 million of non-core businesses last July, when a report in the Independent on Sunday announced plans to sell numerous assets from Carlton Screen Advertising to stakes in top Premier League football teams Arsenal and Liverpool (see Sale Of ITV Businesses To Raise £600 Million).
