Mars Marketer Tipped For ITV Top Role

Mars Marketer Tipped For ITV Top Role

It is understood that Peter Littlewood, a senior marketer for confectionary giant Mars, is currently the most likely candidate to take over as chief executive of the ITV Network. According to a report in this week’s Marketing, Littlewood last week came over to the UK from his current post in the States to meet with ITV executives.

The top post at ITV was vacated earlier this year by Richard Eyre, who departed the Network to become chief executive of Pearson Television (see Eyre Departs ITV For Pearson Television). It has been expected that Eyre’s replacement would come from outside ITV and would have experience of dealing with advertising and media agencies.

Marketing reports that there is now a shortlist of three: Littlewood; David Pattison, chief executive of New PHD and Dominic Proctor, chief operating officer of MindShare. However, no one is willing to comment on the candidates for the vacancy at this stage.
