Virgin Signs Content Deal With Excite

Virgin Radio has signed a deal to provide content for Excite UK’s online radio channel, which launches today.

Virgin Radio will provide live output for the new radio channel, which is part of Excite.co.uk’s expanding entertainment brand. Users will also be able to access the 24-hour music channel, Virgin Radio Party using a customised version of the Virgin Radio interactive player.

Managing editor of Virgin Radio, James Cridland, said: “This relationship with Excite.co.uk underlines the quality and appeal of Virgin Radio. Both stations will provide Excite.co.uk users with great music while they surf.”

Excite.co.uk is currently looking for a buyer for the 58% stake owned by its US parent, following the American company’s decision to file for bankruptcy protection this weekend.
