OAA Working Towards Ad Verification System
![]()
The Outdoor Advertising Association (OAA) is working to get poster companies to adopt a universal method of proving that ads have been posted on their sites.
The initiative marks the first time that competing poster contractors have collaborated on the methodology used to verify ad posting and is intended to bring greater accountability to the sector.
Poster companies currently use different methods to prove to advertisers and their agencies that ads have been posted on time and in the correct place which, according to the OAA, creates confusion among specialists.
A new system to display verification data in a universal and accessible way is already being trialled by Posterscope and the OAA is expected to introduce it to other contractors in the near future.
Recent figures from the Advertising Association show that total revenue for the outdoor advertising industry fell 3% over 2001 to £676m. However, the OAA is positive about the prospects for the coming year (see Outdoor Advertising Saw 3% Revenue Fall In 2001).
