Five Live Gets Bacon
Richard Bacon, presenter of the Xfm drivetime show, is to leave the station at the end of the month, moving to BBC Radio Five Live.
Bacon moved to Xfm in August last year (see Drivetime For Bacon In Xfm Reshuffle) having presented the drivetime show on Capital Radio.
The presenter of the BBC Three Castaway spin-off, Castaway Exposed, is leaving Xfm when his contract expires in order to pursue other opportunities.
When he moves to Five Live Bacon will present a 10-part current affairs panel show, Fighting Talk: Any Other Business.
The series, made by World’s End Productions, will air on Sunday nights and begins on April 1.
The latest RAJAR figures, for the fourth quarter of 2006, show that Xfm 104.9 (London) had a weekly reach of 479,000, compared with a weekly reach of 1.8 million for the Capital’s most popular station, Heart 106.2 (see Heart 106.2 FM Retains Top Spot In London).
