ITV Unveils Two New Sponsorship Deals

ITV Logo ITV has today unveiled two new sponsorship deals, with Ribena Really Light sponsoring Grease Is The Word and Snack a Jacks sponsoring Deadline.

The Ribena sponsorship includes broadcast sponsorship on ITV1 and ITV2, red button interactivity and on-air marketing for the new series Grease Is The Word and also Greased Lightning on ITV2.

The sponsorship was negotiated by Tamlyn Rolfe, associate director at Sponsorcom, MediaCom’s sponsorship division.

ITV and the producers of Grease, the musical, are looking for the next Sandy Dumbrowski and Danny Zuko in the new series Grease Is The Word.

ITV viewers will see thousands of hopefuls audition and then ultimately vote on who should take the coveted lead roles in the new West End production of Grease, opening in July 2007.

Zoe Ball will be presenting the show for ITV1, whilst Holly Willoughby will be getting all the backstage gossip and behind the scenes info for ITV2’s spin off show, Greased Lightnin’.

In addition to the Ribena sponsorship, ITV also announced that Snack a Jacks is to sponsor the brand new ITV2 series Deadline.

The sponsorship deal includes broadcast and online. It was negotiated by Yan Li at ITV Customer Relations and Cate Murden at OMD.

Deadline will see ten celebrities face the challenge of producing a weekly glossy magazine under the editorship of Fleet Street legend Janet Street Porter.

Commenting on the Ribena sponsorship, Jane Reynolds, sponsorship executive at ITV Customer Relations, said: “We are delighted to have Ribena Really Light on board as broadcast sponsor of this exciting new commission.

“This sponsorship will be a perfect platform from which to improve awareness of the Ribena Really Light amongst young adults.”
