The BBC is set to launch a ‘Live Plus 7’ system to supplement traditional TV overnight figures.
The new system will include viewing figures for people watching programmes on a variety of platforms up to seven days after the first broadcast, according to The Market Research Industry Online.
It will combine linear TV audience data from BARB with the BBC’s own internal iStats data, which measures how many people use the iPlayer to watch on-demand content.
Live Plus 7 will incorporate the total audience across live, recordings, narrative, repeats, BBC iPlayer and HD.
The BBC plans to work with the audience measurement specialist TRP to combine the data with traditional television overnights. From next year, the corporation with publish figures every month.
