Marmite For Breakfast

Marmite has announced that it is to sponsor the Sky One broadcast of Chris Evan’s Virgin Radio show.

The breakfast show is to be broadcast simultaneously over Virgin Radio and Sky Television (see Newsline), and marks the first time in history that such a simulcast has taken place. Marmite will be sponsoring the TV version only, and the first broadcast will be on 5 Oct, between 7:30 and 8:30am.

The one year deal is worth £500,000 according to a spokesperson at Virgin Radio, and the programme will run 5 days a week on Sky One.

Kathryn Jacob, sales director at Virgin Radio, commented that the group are delighted with the deal, and: “We are looking forward to expanding the relationship in the future.”

Today, of course, sees the launch of BSkyB’s digital television service (see Newsline), and Sky has released the first magazine guide to digital television, published by Redwood Publishing, called Sky Digital Guide.
