Lee Mcqueen A whopping 9.1 million adults tuned in to the final of The Apprentice last night on BBC One, as Lee McQueen was crowned winner of the reality show.

It went right down to the wire, with Sir Alan eventually discarding loud-mouth Clare in favour of the rough and ready McQueen.

An average of 8.3 million adults (a 36.4% share of the audience) stuck with the show throughout its hour long running time.

New figures from online research firm Hitwise show that this series of the show has seen the official homepage attract more traffic than ever before.

The peak was experienced after the opening episode, with last night’s finale generating the second highest number of visits.

On ITV1 last night at 9pm was Britain’s Biggest Babies. This did not do quite as well as The Apprentice, picking up a peak of 2.9 million adult viewers.

BBC Two meanwhile, from 7.30pm to 10.30pm, aired the latest match in the European football championships, Switzerland v Turkey, which had a peak of 4.4 million adults.

Overnight data is available each morning in mediatel.co.uk’s TV Database, with all BARB registered subscribers able to view reports for terrestrial networks, ITV2 and Sky One.
