IPA Third Quarter TV Trends Report

Average daily viewing levels continue to show a slight improvement over the same period last year, according to the Third Quarter Trends In TV report from the IPA. For Q3 average daily viewing hours stood at 3.29 compared to 3.25 the previous year.

Channel 5 shows a small improvement after its slow start last quarter, and now takes just over 3% of all TV viewing. The non-terrestrial channels’ share continues to grow, C4 and BBC2 are relatively stable while ITV and BBC1 continue to show long-term declines.

Of the top 20 programmes across all adults both ITV and BBC1 had 10, though for ABC1 Adults the split was 7 for ITV and 13 for BBC1.
