eBay To Launch Live Ads

EBay The new TV ad campaign from eBay will use 10-second advertisements featuring a live-feed direct from the eBay auction website.

The ads, which show real-time auction listing, are the first work produced by Albion since it won the account in July.

The campaign breaks on September 9 and retains the eBay animated Logo people, although they have undergone a redesign to make them appear more lifelike.

The 10-second ads continue into October and will then be followed by longer 30 second and 50 second commercials as well as online and print ads.

The live ad was done in collaboration with PHD, ITV, BD Network and the BACC.

eBay ranked third on comScore’s list of the top ten most visited websites in the UK in June, with 22.1 million unique visitors (see Summer Holiday Season Boosts Traffic to Cinema and Holiday Sites).

eBay has also announced that it is to allow UK sellers to include video in their auction listings for the first time, changing its UK policy in acknowledgment of the increasing popularity of video content.
