hellomagazine.com Extends Interactive Offerings

Hello Magazines Daily celebrity news site, hellomagazine.com, is expanding its SMS and JAVA mobile offering with a new WAP portal, enabling users to access eight of the latest celebrity stories and photos on their mobile phone from Monday to Friday.

Users of the new service can access the site by texting GO HELLOMAG to 85080, with the latest headlines available for free. Those wanting to read the full story they will be asked to subscribe for £3 a month.

Commenting on the mobile addition to the popular website, Tree Elven, Hello!’s online editor, said: “We’re pumping out great pictures and authoritative news stories every day on hellomagazine.com, people don’t want to miss the latest titbits just because they’re on the go, so a WAP site is the perfect solution.”

She continued: “Celeb-thirsty fans can check the headlines and then go deeper if they want the full story with photos. We’re really happy to be adding HELLO! WAP to our mobile offer and we’ll soon be beefing it up even more with wallpapers, ringtones and other entertaining stuff.”

Earlier this year, hellomagazine.com teamed up with ntlworld.com and tesco.net, providing celebrity news to their internet customers (see hellomagazine.com Strikes Deal With ntlworld and tesco.net).

The deal allowed users to receive celebrity news on their most visited pages, with the headlines of the women’s website updated through the day and linking directly to the stories in the five sections on hellomagazine.com; Celebrities, Actors and Actresses, Musicians, Fashion and Models and Royalty.

Hello! magazine performed well in the latest ABC results, enjoying a 9.1% year on year circulation increase in July to December 2004, commanding a total of 382,391 (see ABC Results Jul-Dec 2004: Stable Gossip Sector Sees Now Stay On Top).
