Media Survey For Northern Ireland

Media Survey For Northern Ireland

The University of Ulster will be carrying out the first ever Cross-Media Survey for Northern Ireland.

This survey aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of the nature of the media audience in Northern Ireland. In taking a demographically-representative sample of 400, and documenting their entire range of media consumption, the Northern Ireland Cross-Media Survey aims to illustrate exactly how local audiences engage with a variety of competing media forms.

There will be a demographically representative sample of 400 adults (aged 16+) and it will divide the media into 9 individual survey categories: television, cinema, radio, video, newspapers, magazines, music, books and new technologies.

The Survey will employ a number of quantitative and qualitative techniques, from simple yes/no prompts and 5-point scales through to audience appreciation indices(%) and open-ended attitude sampling.
