The National Heritage Secretary, Chris Smith, appointed Julian Eccles as his special advisor today.
Eccles was formerly a public affairs consultant with the public relations consultancy Hill and Knowlton, where he specialised in broadcasting and IT issues. He has been involved with the Labour Party for many years.
