The Radio Authority has announced that GWR is now within the 15% limit on radio ownership set by the Broadcasting Act 1996. The RA has been examining the radio group’s holdings to ensure that its recent divestments of holdings in other stations had brought it within the maximum allowed.
The RA had originally ruled that GWR’s acquisition of Classic FM had put the company above the 15% ceiling. Since then, the group has sold three of its gold stations *(see GWR Sells Gold Stations and also its KLFM station *(see GWR Sells KLFM).
