http://www.bta.org.uk/moviemap/
The British Tourist Authority has just launched a site giving information on UK locations used for film and television productions. The print version of the ‘Movie Map’ has proved to be the BTA’s most popular campaign.
Sir Anthony Hopkins introduces this digital guide to the British film back drop. The site has information on UK locations for international blockbusters as diverse as Absolutely Fabulous and Trainspotting. It gives the web visitor details of where each of the locations is, what to visit, where to stay and a brief production history of each film mentioned. It also tells you how you can tour the British Isles following in the footsteps of film heroes from Four Weddings and a Funeral and even Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
To further tempt the digital traveller to visit the places in person there are a number of special offers for various tourist attractions, hotels and even special rates for Budget rent a car.
With it’s easy to navigate layout, lack of crowds and fascinating facts this is one tourist attraction well worth a visit.
