Telewest Penetration Shows Slight Increase

Cable company Telewest today issued operating statistics which show that cable penetration in its franchise area has increased by 0.7% points to 22.6% year on year. Churn was down slightly at 33.4% and cable TV customers increased year on year by 31.5% to 528,142.

Telewest’s figures are indicative of most cable companies at present. Nynex for example, announcing figures yesterday Increased Revenue For Nynex, said that its cable penetration increased marginally from 19.8% to 20.6% and customers increased 36% to 268,519.
