WPP Buying Stakes In US Technology
The Financial Times reports today that WPP, the advertising and marketing services group, has been busy buying up stakes in US companies. WPP has spent over £5.9 million purchasing minority stakes in American companies to give its clients access to new interactive technologies. WPP wants to learn all it can about the benefits of the wired world and pass on this knowledge to their clients. By investing wisely the company is also hoping to gain financially from the scheme.
WPP now has stakes in 5 Stateside companies and is still looking to invest a further $10 million in businesses in the US, UK and Asia.
