MediaTel Launches New Database
MediaTel, the UK’s biggest media database, now almost entirely accessible via the Internet, launches its new Press Database service and a redesigned look to its complete web product this afternoon.
The new Press Database offers users a number of improved features which allows access to information on press circulation and readership data quickly and easily. The pioneering feature of the Press Database, which was found to be popular in user groups, is its instant-charting facility, whereby information selected by the user can be charted online or loaded instantly to spread sheet format for inclusion in reports or presentations in a matter of seconds. Instant-charting, rarely seen on the Web to date, has been developed in-house by MediaTel. Once selected the tabulated or charted data can also be modified “on-the-fly”.
The data available via the Press Database includes 10 years of ABC and NRS trends plus current advertising rates, contact details, publishing company details, editorial descriptions and first issue reviews with cover shots for the latest titles. Users can select national or regional titles by keying in descriptive keywords, or by keying in the title name of the publication or publisher. Section details for national newspapers are also included. Once selected, titles can be stored in a list for future use.
The Press Database launch coincides with a new framed look to the MediaTel Web site, which affords easy navigation from any part of the site and will offer similar instant-charting facilities in all other MediaTel databases.
Commenting on the new service Derek Jones, managing director, of MediaTel said:
“Our new framed look and the facilities available via the Press Database show that MediaTel continues to lead business to business developments on the net for the media sector. These are just the first in a series of new services in the pipeline for 1997. Our new media-mail service has just been launched, and an extended Sponsorship database and a New Media Database will be on the net shortly.”
