Most sectors had a quiet week though agencies AMV.BBDO and CIA both performed well, with AMV rising from 651p at the start of the week to 678.5p by Friday as a result of it winning Campaign‘s Agency of the Year Award. CIA was buoyed by a mention in Media Week‘s Agency of the Year list as well as confirmation that the long-running and somewhat damaging row with Laser had at last been settled. Its price on Monday was 120.5p but by Friday had risen to 133.5p.

Reuters suffered slightly on Wednesday from a cautious analyst’s report which sent shares down 13 to 719.5p while the Mirror Group rose 6 to 222.5p on Wednesday as a result of Panmure Gordon setting a share target of 250p, highlighting lower newsprint costs and the possible benefits of the coming general election.
