In an unconfirmed leak to the Financial Times, the Capital Radio Group is reported to have told the Radio Authority that it will as much as triple the programme budget of Capital Gold, if it is successful in winning the new London FM frequency. The current Capital Gold budget is about £900,000 a year. This would run to £2.7million if the reports are true.
Capital Gold is one of 25 applicants in line for the new London FM license. The winner will be announced on Thursday.
