The Guardian Guide, the Saturday listings supplement, will be cover-mounting a classical soundtrack sampler CD of the forthcoming film Shine on Saturday 11 January in the London area.
The move follows on from the success of the Paul Weller CD cover-mount in June which increased sales by over 35,000 in London and the South East. The Shine CD will include music by Beethoven, Chopin and Rachmaninov and is released by Philips Classic. The promotion will be supported by TV and radio advertising, breaking on Thursday January 9th and created by Leagas Delaney.
Stephen Palmer, marketing director of the paper, said: “In the ever competitive newspaper market-place the Guardian continues to drive promotions that are in-thinking with the core values of the paper.”
