United News & Media is reported to be reconsidering the sale of the Yellow Advertiser and Informer groups of southern-based free weeklies.
The expected bidders, thought to include Southnews, Trinity and Southern Publishing have now dropped out of the auction. United was rumoured to be looking for around £40 million for the sale, now the papers may be taken off the for sale list altogether.
They are part of United Provincial Newspapers which was put up for sale in September last year *(Significant Interest In UPN Titles). In November United sold its 15 Welsh newspaper titles to Southern Newspapers for £31.5 million, also as part of the UPN auction *( United News & Media Sell Welsh Titles).
