Free Papers Set For Battle In Milton Keynes

Milton Keynes is going to become the war zone for free newspapers this weekend. Bedfordshire On Sunday is to expand into the new town this Sunday and the Milton Keynes Citizen Group is rumoured to be considering a Sunday launch.

Bedfordshire On Sunday, owned by Local Sunday Newspapers, has a 15 strong staff. The paper is to be edited by group editor, Andrew Kelly. The launch issue has 32 pages and is looking for a distribution of at least 80,000.

Andrew Kelly said: “We will be sticking to our tried and tested formula of in-depth news, controversial views and good writing.”

The Milton Keynes Citizen has neither confirmed nor denied reports that they will be moving into the Sunday sector.
