Nearly half of Britain’s TV viewers have claim that they would be ‘lost’ without TV. Over a third of the sample thought that watching TV is the best way to relax. This was revealed by research carried out by EBN, the cable and satellite business channel.

Saucy Brits don’t mind a bit of bare flesh on the small screen and 40% of people surveyed did not object to nudity on the box. A diet of violence, however, could turn viewers off, with 61% of people stating that there is too much violence on TV; a third of respondents think that crime reports on TV encourage more violence.

Most Brits do still have faith in the quality of TV; 67% of those interviewed believe that British TV programmes are of very high quality.
