Economy Set To Slow, Warns CIM
Consumer spending is set to fall sharply in 1998 as confidence drops, predicts a new report published by the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
The Quarterly State of the Market Report is forecasting a “growth recession” where the economy slows down to below the trend rate of growth but does not come to a standstill. The CIM believes growth will fall to 1.7% in 1998.
