Capital Radio’s plans to take over Virgin Radio will have to wait a little longer after the Monopolies and Mergers Commission passed its confidential decision to the Department of Trade and Industry on Friday.
The MMC had to consider the deal’s implications in terms of ownership and announcement of the decision now sits with the DTI which will consider the MMC’s recommendation. The DTI will not give a date for the release due to the ‘market sensitivity’ of the information. The decision will appear on Newsline as soon as it is announced.
