Unit Trusts And PEPs Go Online
The fund group Fidelity Investments is to offer its unit trusts and personal equity plans over the Internet. The system will initially target the company’s existing customers but will eventually roll out to anyone with access to the World Wide Web. Customers will then be able to open accounts without the need for a signature. The only two existing Internet fund managers which are selling in the UK require a signature to be sent by post.
The Fidelity service begins on 1 January in the UK; information can be found at http://www.fidelity.com/.
