The BARB board has decided to further extend its current measurement contract until the end of 2001, due to the fact that digital TV systems will not launch until next year.
BARB says that the extension will “ensure stability over this period for the measurement of existing broadcast channels as well as making the provision for the newly emerging technology.”
The review date had originally been set for July 2000 when it was thought that digital TV would launch in Autumn this year.
