GWR In Talks With The Government

GWR Group is to lobby the National Heritage Secretary, Chris Smith, to relax the rules on UK radio ownership. Henry Meakin, the Group’s chairman, wishes the current 15% audience share rules to be increased. GWR currently has a 14.9% share which prevents it from expanding further into the UK radio market and has forced it to look to foreign markets.
