Film Action Man
Films Minister, Tom Clarke has started working on an action plan to boost the film industry and film going in Britain. He has also announced the make-up of a new film policy review group. The group will be co-chaired by the Minister and Polygram Filmed Entertainments’ Stewart Till and will include industry big-hitters and innovative young film makers. The group’s remit is to look at financial frameworks, distribution and exhibition, improved training and skills, broadening cinema audiences, promoting exports and attracting foreign investment.
Clarke said: “The new government is serious about the film industry. Our aim is to produce an achievable agenda for action for the industry and government to support it.”
