Broadcast is reporting that United News & Media is poised to buy into S4C’s Digital Networks, the Welsh channel’s digital terrestrial TV bid. However, Newsline sources reveal that UN&M has no immediate plans to invest in SDN, although it is not something to be ruled out altogether.
Channel 5 has a guaranteed slot on multiplex A, the multiplex that S4C is bidding for *Digital Terrestrial TV – The Bids and UNM has a stake in Channel 5. This is the route UNM are most likely to use to give them a greater involvement in digital television.
No formal announcements are likely to be made for some time.
