Web Site Of The Week – New Media Age
The magazine dedicated to discussing New Media issues, New Media Age has finally caught up with itself and gone on-line; the site can be found at: http://www.nma.co.uk.
The magazine’s site has a simple design and is easy to navigate, however some of the text headings have to be squinted at to be seen.
Avid readers of New Media Age may get a feeling of déjà vu. The news and feature’s service simply regurgitates the contents of the print version of the title. For New Media addicts, the glossary of terms will prove useful and for those people looking for work in this sector, the site has a recruitment page. Although, Price Jamieson recruitment has a monopoly on the jobs available.
The only part of the site to exploit the interactive potential of the Internet is the Chat section, but when Newsline tried to talk we got no answer.
The subject nature of this site leads people to expect a high-tech, interactive service; they won’t get it. Obviously, the site is still in its developmental stages and, like wine, all good sites improve with age and hopefully this site will be no different.
