Only half the population, who should be able to receive Channel 5, have tuned their TV sets to the new channel.

Ever optimistic, a spokesman for 5 said that the 2.8% weekly viewing share was even more encouraging, considering only 50% of the population had tuned to the station.

Channel 5 is now preparing to launch a marketing campaign to inform people of the need to tune their sets.
