Marketers Confident Of Buoyant 1997

A survey, by the Chartered Institute of Marketing, reveals that regardless of the outcome of the election leading marketers are confident of a buoyant 1997.

The survey shows that top marketers are planning for over 5.3% volume sales growth for the current year. This positive mood is reflected in the Chartered Institute of Marketing’s Confidence Index, which has risen to 96.1% from 93.9% at the start of the year.

Steve Cuthbert, director general of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, emphasised that: “The survey is pointing to stronger growth in the second half of 1997 than in the first half, whoever wins the election.”
